These customers purchased their Brentwood home three months ago and didn't like the size or configuration of the existing deck. Upon our initial inspection we found the joists to be solid but the existing 4x4 posts to be rotting. So we removed the decking, stairs and railings and replaced the 4x4 posts with 6x6 posts sitting on galvanized post bases so they will never be sitting in puddles of water again. Once we did that, we added the 8'x16' deck extension to the front of the deck. We ONLY use PREMIUM pressure treated wood on our projects. We built a new staircase that was much more convenient for them to carry groceries from their driveway. Another nice touch was the wood/aluminum baluster railings with solar lights and a 6"drink rail all around. Oh, and the horizontal pressure treated appearance boards to enclose the bottom of the deck. We then added a 3'x3' gate for under-deck access as a final touch. Start to finish in 5 1/2 days.
