These customers had their deck boards, stairs and railings replaced during Covid and went with Trex composite to eliminate maintenance. But about two years later they noticed an obvious hump in the middle of the deck from front to back. It was so bad that they couldn't use the deck until the issue was addressed and solved. They reached out to us for our opinion of what caused it to happen. Well, we took it on and took every Trex board up, marked each one with a number so we could put the puzzle back together once we fixed the issue under the deck. Low and behold, the original contractor didn't follow code and had just one support beam in the center with one bolt holding it to the beam and the bolt rusted over time and every joist fell about 6"-8" causing the huge hump. We added three 6x6 notched posts on galvanized post bases and tripled up the beam beneath the deck for ultimate support. Then it was time to put the puzzle back together. The results speak volumes and we have another happy customer. Here is what they had to say:
"Thank you both so much for all your hard work. We could not be more pleased with the security and workmanship of our deck. Because you've repaired it so well and it will still be here when we head off to the Gloryland! We will absolutely recommend you on NextDoor and to our friends needing deck services. Thanks again so much".
